PHS's Jeff Schelly Wins Counselor of the Month for the State of Colorado!

PHS is proud to announce:

This morning representatives from  the State and the Colorado Council on High School and College Relations recognized Jeff Schelly as the Counselor of the Month for the State of Colorado.  As a Counselor of the Month, Jeff is qualified to receive the Counselor of the Year award from Colorado Council on High School & College Relations.

An anonymous nomination reads:

This counselor is an exceptional leader, mentor, coach, teacher and counselor. He has worked many years in the classroom as an excellent social studies teacher, working with high risk populations as a mentor and highly effective teacher. He also volunteers to teach and lead support groups to mentor wayward freshman. He is a person of exceptional character, integrity, and has an infectiously positive spirit; yet when needed he can set a firm, fair example with high expectations for challenging students to making healthy decisions. Jeff is a very outgoing person, and will give the shirt off his back to help a student or colleague in need. For these reasons, and so many more, Jeff is an outstanding candidate for your award.
