College & Career Center

The College & Career Center at PHS is here to help students learn about all the facets to the college admissions process.  From research, to scholarship information, letters of recommendation, and application procedures.  Staff members are available to assist students and parents with computer programs for college and career exploration, student scholarship research, and college and career materials.

Students may obtain information on ACT or SAT tests and registration. Practice tests and websites are also available. Internet access is available for students to apply to colleges, practice tests, research information, etc. Students can also prepare college essays and resumes on the computers in the Center.

The Guidance Bulletin is published bi-monthly and is available on the PHS website. Scholarship deadlines will be listed in the bulletin, as well as in Naviance.

The search for scholarships can be made through several different sources. Students should keep in mind that this search requires on-going application. Scholarships, in most cases, make up at most half of the student’s cost for school, and usually 20%.
