Leadership Opportunities:

Ambassadors

  •  Junior and Senior students who want to help others and have a positve impact on PHS and the greater Fort Collins community.
  • Trained as peer educators and do class presentations and outreach activities on a variety of topics, including Teen Dating Violence, Sexual Harassment/Assault and Suicide Prevention.
  • Present throughout school year at PHS, Middle and Elementary Schools throughout the District, Remington House, Turning Point, and Platte Valley Youth Services Center.
  • Mentor PHS Freshman through the Students Mentoring Students Program.
  • Applications and an interview are required the Spring before Junior or Senior year.

Student Council and IB Student Council

  • A group of leaders who are involved with the following activities: Homecoming Activities, service projects, the Canned Food Drive, and mentoring programs.
  • The skills that our leaders are learning are professional skills that will translate into success in any career their choose.

Poudre Pals

Professional and Community Experience (PaCE)

  • This program provides opportunities for Poudre School District students to gain career experience through a wide variety of partnerships with businesses, professionals and agencies in the Larimer County area.
  • Students earn credit based on the hours spent in the career-related experience (i.e. 27 hours in a paid position=1 credit, 18 hours in a volunteer position= 1 credit.)

Capstone Experience

  • A self-initiated, self-paced, independent research project that affords students the opportunity to receive high school credit while researching and focusing on a topic of special interest.

Global Explorers

  • Summer trip developed for and offered to 8th and 9th grade GT students.
  • Explores youth leadership against the backdrop of the stunning South-western United States.
