Julia Beckley/IB 2012 Graduate – now attending Coe College, Iowa, was nominated for two individual leadership awards and the organization she is president of was nominated as well for two other awards. Julia received the Outstanding First Year Student Award, which is only given to one student each year.
This year Julia intiated the first St. Baldricks event on Coe's campus. They had 41 shavees, and 8 of whom were women. They raised over $7,000 for cancer research!
Meredith Lukens Wheeler, PHS Class of 2009, will receive up to $30,000 for graduate school to help her prepare for careers in public service. The Harry S. Truman Foundation recently named Meredith Lukens Wheeler, currently a junior at Stanford University, as a 2013 Truman Scholar. Read the entire article here.

Lindsey Pointer, Poudre Class of 2009, had the incredible opportunity to meet the Dalai Lama while she was living in McCleod Ganj in Dharamasala, India. She even got to give him a print of the portrait she painted of him when she was 14 and had the honor of being one of five people in her group who got to ask him a question. She will be home for two weeks to attend brother Eli's (Class of 2012) graduation and then off again for a month in Cuba.
