PHS Students Shine at Colorado Thespian Festival in Denver!

This past weekend, 43 Poudre High School students performed at the Colorado Thespian Festival in Denver. This is the largest group PHS has ever taken to the conference. Their performances and attitudes again showed why Poudre Theatre has become one of the premier high school programs in Colorado.
Several of our students received Superior ratings in state-wide Individual Performance Events, and qualified to perform at the International Thespian Festival in June:
• Amy Weintraub – Solo Musical Theatre
• Luke Siddens & Lea Ramer – Duet Scene
• Margaret Stitzel – Costume Design
• Ana Antolin – Costume Construction
• Mary Schooler – Costume Design
• Connor Wilkinson – Lighting Design
• Natalie Coleman – Costume Design
In addition, Margaret Stitzel was selected to the Critic’s Choice Showcase, the “best of the best” in her IE category, and Luke Siddens & Lea Ramer earned a Showcase callback for their event.
Poudre was one of twelve schools in the state that brought and performed a One-Act play at Festival, and many of our students received Excellent scores on their performance events.
Our students participated in workshops and classes, met with college representatives and theatre professionals, and viewed outstanding performances by peers from around Colorado.
Poudre students consistently behaved professionally, respectfully, and with integrity. Several of them offered to help hotel and convention center staff with cleaning up and extra duties. They maintained the high standards of Poudre Theatre, Poudre High School, and Poudre School District throughout the experience, and helped cement and uphold the reputation Poudre Theatre has earned for outstanding work, talent, and character.
