Biographical Sketch: 

Luke Lefurge grew up in the state of Vermont, upon graduating from high school he entered the active duty Air Force, serving in Washington DC and Germany. Upon being honorably discharged from active dury Air Force, he matriculated into the University of Vermont, majoring in Forest Management. After graduating from UVM, he entered the Peace Corps, serving as a volunteer in Paraguay. While there he worked with impoverished farmers helping them to adopt tree crops into their agricultural schemes. Completing his volunteer service in Paraguay, he entered the education profession, becoming a science teacher while earning a Masters of Education from Temple University. He has been a math and science for 18 years, though most recently he has been serving as a Dean of Students. He is a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant having served 26 years both active duty and reserves with two tours in Afghanistan. He lives with Brandy Bixler and together they are raising their daughter Olivia, he enjoys mountain biking and woodworking.
