I was born and raised in Wisconsin. After 18 years of small town living, I was ready to explore the world. I moved out to Colorado after college and taught in Aurora. Then my wife and I moved to Germany and Ecuador for 4 years where we got to really live and learn from different cultures. I also gained a greater respect for my German heritage, and how it is still preserved in the United States.
We have happily settled in to this wonderful community and started a family with our new daughter. I volunteer frequently with the Fort Collins Bike Co-Op.
“When humans invented the bicycle we reached the peak of our attainments. Here was a machine of precision and balance for the convenience of humans. And (unlike subsequent inventions for human convenience) the more we used it, the fitter our body became. Here, for once, was a product of the human brain that was entirely beneficial to those who used it, and of no harm or irritation to others. Progress should have stopped when we invented the bicycle. ” - Elizabeth Howard West

The classroom will be what we all make of it. I will do my best each day, and I hope that each of my students will too.
