Kathy Mackay grew up in Littleton, Colorado and came to Fort Collins to attend CSU. After earning her degree in Technical Journalism and Communication, she began her career as a reporter and anchor for a local news station, then took a position as a Video Producer and Communications Assistant for PSD. It's there she learned that her true passion was working with kids. Kathy chose to return to CSU for a teaching endorsement in Social Studies and was soon hired at PHS to teach IB Humanities, US History and Video Production. Kathy left Poudre for a brief stint at Lincoln Junior High School as an Assistant Principal, but returned to Poudre in 2008 as an Assistant Principal and accepted the role as Poudre's Principal in 2013. Of all Kathy's accomplishments, she is most proud of her three sons, Collin, age 16, Cooper, age 13, and Sterling, age 2. Both Collin and Cooper attended Bennett IB World School, Lesher IB World School and will follow the IB path at Poudre.
