¡Hola! My name is Rigo Castillón. I am a graduate of University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in International Studies. Additionally, I attended Minnesota State University-Moorhead, where I obtained a degree in Secondary Education for Spanish.
I was born in Mexico City, but moved to the United States when I was 4 years old. Identity is something that fascinates me, and I consider myself 200% (100% Mexican and 100% American). Primarily, I grew up in Wisconsin (I love cheese!), but have also lived in Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, North Dakota and now, Colorado.
Since moving to Colorado, I have developed an even deeper love for the outdoors. I really enjoy spending time in the mountains, whether I'm: driving in, camping, hiking, watching wildlife, or backpacking - it is always time well-spent.
I enjoy pop culture and listening to music. Jamming out in my car to some music of various genres of music- reggeaton, rap, country, top 40, EDM, pop-is my go to while driving anywhere. I have 45 pets-30 some being chickens!
This is my 7th year teaching high school, and my 9th year overall. I taught at Lincoln Middle School for a year and have taught one year of Spanish Immersion to first graders in Minnesota.
