Biographical Sketch:
Originally from suburban Philadelphia, I've lived in Fort Collins since 1999. From 2004-2009, I taught K-6 art at Putnam Elementary School. After earning an additional teaching endorsement in English, I began teaching at PHS in 2009. I served as the staff sponsor for Poudre’s student-published literary and fine art magazine, Kaleidoscope from 2009-2022, and as head coach of our boys’ and girls’ cross country programs from 2007-2014. I currently teach Pottery, Advanced Pottery, Drawing, and IB HL Visual Art, as well as serving as the Art Department chair. My various duties at Poudre have allowed me the unique and enriching opportunity to share my passions for art, reading, writing, running, and learning with my students. When I'm not teaching, I spend most of my time with wife, Emily Richards Moyer (who taught English at PHS from 2005-2022, and is now the IB coordinator at Dunn Elementary), playing with our Great Dane, Poppy, mountain & road biking, making pottery, reading, writing, drawing, running, traveling, and eating.
