I serve as an Assistant Principal at Poudre High School, and I’m proud to be part of the Poudre community. I really enjoy working alongside students, families, and staff to help make PHS a place where students feel connected, supported, and challenged to grow.
Before moving into administration, I was a special education teacher here at Poudre High School, and that experience continues to shape how I approach my work today. I still work closely with our Integrated Services department and have a strong connection to the students and staff they support.
During my time at Poudre, I’ve had the opportunity to serve as both a Dean of Students and Assistant Principal. My work touches a little bit of everything, including supporting students and staff, school safety, academic programming, concurrent enrollment and career pathways, and helping coordinate the many moving pieces that keep a high school running. And there are a lot of moving pieces.
One of my favorite parts of the job is working with people to solve problems, remove barriers, and create more opportunities for students. Poudre’s Ubuntu philosophy, “I am who I am because of who we are,” really captures what I believe about schools. We are better when we take care of each other, work together, and make sure people feel like they belong. That is a big part of what makes PHS such a great place for both students and staff.
Outside of Poudre, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two kids, getting outdoors, seeing live music, and starting projects around the house that somehow always seem easier before I actually start them.
