I was born in Columbus, Ohio but I moved to Fort Collins in elementary school. After graduating high school in 2010, I attended the University of Oregon. After three years, I transferred to Colorado State University where I received my Bachelors Degree in Health and Exercise Science and began working at a local gym. While working at the gym I began coaching a variety of sports at Cache la Poudre Middle School where I discovered how much I enjoy working with students and helping them reach their goals. This experience, as well as some encouragement from the school guidance counselor, prompted me to go back to CSU for a Masters degree in education.
My goal as a teacher is to show students that science can be so much more than just a textbook or set of equations. Science is all around us, and I want my students to experience all of the fun, mystery, and exploration that science has to offer. I strive to create a classroom where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas and discover how science connects to the world around them.
In addition to teaching, I also coach football and track. Coaching is another opportunity for me to build relationships with students, help them challenge themselves, and support their growth both on and off the field. Whether in the classroom, on the field, or on the track, I enjoy helping students discover their potential and develop confidence in what they are capable of. Outside of school, I enjoy playing rec sports and traveling. My goal is to make it to all of our national parks and am currently about ⅓ of the way there!
