Educational Background:
Graduated from Colorado State University with a BS in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Education
Biographical Sketch:
I am entering my first year here at Poudre High School! I grew up on the Western Slope and have moved back to Fort Collins after a year of student teaching. I am excited to be guiding your students in growing their culinary knowledge and expanding their culinary experience. I am also the co-sponsor of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), and would love to help support your students in joining our engaging student organization. My interests outside of school are spending time with my dog, hanging out with friends and family, reading, crafting, and going on adventures. If you are interested in what culinary classes look like, I'd be happy to answer any questions!
Favorite Quote:
"Life isn't a road that forks or a line of numbered sliding doors. There is no alternate universe filled with only right choices. There's just this one- just this life, and we go where our choices take us and grow wiser from our mistakes."
Courses Taught:
Catering 1 and Catering 2
About My Classroom:
You can expect to see a fun, engaging classroom and kitchen space where students are encouraged to work as a team, communicate, explore, and have fun while learning! I am a firm believer in hands-on learning, and I incorporate as many hands-on experiences as possible, whether that be a culinary lab or project. I am passionate about giving students the opportunity to real life skills that will not only benefit them in this class, but in their own lives once they leave the educational space.
