I grew up in small idyllic Vermont village and upon graduating from high School I enlisted in the Air Force, serving in Washington DC and Germany. At the termination of my enlistment I received an honorable discharge and returned to Vermont and enrolled at the University of Vermont. Upon completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry I entered the Peace Corps and was sent to Paraguay. While there I worked with impoverished farmers promoting techniques for sustainable agriculture. After the Peace Corps I opted to pursue my passion of becoming a teacher. Along the way I earned a Masters of Education degree from Temple University. I taught math and science for twelve years and worked in school administration for 13, most recently serving as a Dean of Students. I have a wonderful 15 year old daughter Olivia and am raising her with Brandy. In my free time I enjoy mountain biking and woodworking.
