Educational Background:

Biographical Sketch:
I have lived in Fort Collins for almost my entire life- I attended O'Dea, McGraw, Webber, and graduated from Rocky Mountain High School. After gaining my undergraduate degree in English Education from CSU, I worked at Northridge High School for 5 years in Greeley, Colorado, where I taught everything from language acquisition courses to AP English. I began teaching at Poudre High School in 2014, and since then I have earned my masters degree in Curriculum Design from UNC.
Outside of teaching, my passions are varied, though often outdoorsy. I especially enjoy backpacking in Utah; my husband and I spend almost every spring break on a dusty desert trail. I also enjoy hiking around Colorado and traveling abroad. Some of my favorite out-of-country experiences have been sampling street food in Thailand, touring the Acropolis in Athens, and hiking to a ruined castle in Scotland. In my day-to-day life, I spend a lot of time with family, and my spunky dog, Juniper. I love music, and have recently begun collecting vinyl but have always enjoyed playing the piano and singing. I am, of course, an avid reader. My favorite novels include the Harry Potter series, and more recently All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr and any of the many memoirs written by David Sedaris. I'm not a picky, however, and enjoy most books that I pick up.
