Below is all the info you'll need for this years camp. If you've got any questions, email Mr. Petersen at cpeterse@psdschools.org
This years Poudre Band Camp will be held August 2-6 (Mon-Fri) from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm each day. The camp is for all current Poudre band/percussion students, or any Poudre student interested in band/percussion.
We'll be learning some music for the upcoming Pep Band season, receiving daily coaching from local professional musicians, and plenty of time to meet new friends, listen to music and goof off a bit!
We will meet each day at 2:00 sharp in the Band Room (201). If you're new, I'll have signage leading you from the front doors to the band room. There is a possibility our building construction won't be finished by Monday. If we can't get in the band room, we'll meet outside in the new amphitheater! (I'll also have some signs leading to that, but it's on the northwest corner of the building).
PSD/Larimer County have not yet released their COVID protocols for music during the upcoming school year. We will plan to follow whatever instruction we are given. Our plan is to do all, or nearly all of our playing outside. We are fairly certain there will be no masking/bell covers/MERV filters required for outdoor playing. If these protocols change, we'll let you all know ASAP!
Here's what you should bring:
-
Sunscreen (supposed to be pretty hot, and we'll be outside much of the time)
-
Water! I'll have some coolers, but it's a great idea to bring your own water bottle and stay hydrated!
-
Your instrument (if you need to rent one from Poudre, we can get it checked out on Monday!)
-
A lyre and flip folder.
-
these can be purchased locally at Boomers or Music and Arts, or online.
-
You should also grab an extra 6-8 pages for your flip folder (we'll have at least 15 tunes to play, probably closer to 22)
-
-
A great attitude!
Can't wait to see you all again, and get to making some great music together!
